May 1905 Rhyolite population estimated at 1500

June 1905 Porter brothers open store on Main St. in Rhyolite

17 June 1905 Rhyolite Post Office opened

1 July 1905 Southern Hotel opens

July 1905 Rhyolite Township established

August 1905 Rhyolite gets piped water; school district formed;

Miner's Hospital built; swimming pool opens

September 1905 Senator Stewart moves into new residence in Bullfrog

October 1905 Porter Brothers store opens on Golden St.

29 November 1905 Rhyolite Board of Trade organized

15 December 1905 1st fatal gunfight --- Sullivan & Clayton

February 1906 Bottle House completed

18 June 1907 B&G arrives in Rhyolite

June 1908 Train depot completed; Overbury Building open

July 1908 Rhyolite Post Office moved to basement of Cook Bank Bldg.

January 1909 Rhyolite school building opened

30 April 1910 Street lights turned off

14 May 1910 Porter Brothers Store closes

1910 Rhyolite population is 675

March 1911 Montgomery-Shoshone mine shut down

8 April 1911 Last issue of the Rhyolite Herald

15 September 1919 Rhyolite Post Office closes

1920 Rhyolite population is 14

1922 Rhyolite population is 1

1924 Rhyolite is deserted

1925 Bottle House is restored/reroofed by Paramount

Leased to Murphy/Moffat and turned into a museum

10 November 1934 Shorty Harris died

1936 Train depot is converted to a casino/museum

1956 Murphy died. Tommy Thompson takes over at Bottle House

1990's Numerous old mining claims  reopened by Barrick

2000 Barrick ceases mining operations in Rhyolite
